The State of Texas contracted Unisys Corporation to consolidate twenty-three of the States independent Data Centers into one facility. VMAs design team was contracted in December 2006 with an impossible task to have the facility ready to occupy in April 2007. The project was divided into three phases: Phase 1 - 50,000 SF Data Center/ Customer Support/ Command Center; Phase 2 - Exterior Site Improvements for secondary back-up utility service; and Phase 3 - 22,000 SF print/ mail area with high-bay storage. The design team and its partnership approach with the general contractor helped Unisys Corporation meet their commitments to the State of Texas and deliver Phase 1 on schedule. Phase 3 was completed by the end of June 2007.
