San Diego Service Center
San Diego, CA
- 90,000 SF, Design-Bid-Build
Vasquez Marshall Architects lead a custom team to undertake UBOC San Diego Service Center's conversion of an existing Tier II critical facility to Tier IV. The 24/7 Data Center facility remained fully operational throughout the conversion / migration from a single path power supply to dual path. The electrical upgrades included two new 1250KW standby diesel generators, a new 500 KVA/ 400KW UPS, new static PDUs and supporting ATSs for the mechanical CRAC units. Similarly, the mechanical systems were also converted to a Tier IV configuration utilizing dual source CRAC units that can run on either the existing chilled water system or new DX condenser units. The upgrade includes replacement of the existing Halon Fire Suppression System with an Inergen Clean Agent Fire Suppression System in all mission-critical areas.
