This project was a renovation of an existing precast concrete, high-bay warehouse into a Maintenance and Repair Facility for Light Rail Vehicles (San Diego Trolley). The facility consists of administrative offices, shower and locker rooms, classrooms, security offices, repair and maintenance shops, parts storage, laydown areas, bridge and 5-ton overhead cranes, and wash down areas. Special work includes complete seismic upgrades with new piles under existing spread footings, value engineering study of various new roofing systems, entire reroof of the facility, renovations for ADA Title 24 compliance, new electric service throughout building, new mechanical HVAC system, and hazardous material abatement removal.
